Born Cheshire. In recent seasons, Susan has extended her repertoire to include new roles such as Minnie Fanciulla del West (ENO), Gertrude / Witch Hänsel und Gretel (Opera North), Mrs Lovett Sweeney Todd (Houston Grand Opera), Mother in Mark-Anthony Turnage’s Greek (Edinburgh International Festival, Brooklyn Academy, New York). This season: Klytaemnestra Elektra (Canadian Opera), creates the role Liz Stride in the world première of Iain Bell’s Jack the Ripper (ENO).
Susan Bullock’s acclaim in the operas of Strauss and Wagner have led her to collaborate with some of the world’s leading conductors including Fabio Luisi, Semyon Bychkov, Seiji Ozawa, Sir Mark Elder and Edo de Waart.
Interests: jazz, cricket and Welsh rugby.
