Ruxandra Donose
Bucharest-born Ruxandra was Eboli Don Carlo and in summer 2020 reprises the role in Nicholas Hytner’s production at Covent Garden.
Other season highlights include appearances as Brangaene in Christof Loy’s production of Tristan und Isolde (Covent Garden), Elektra Orest (Wiener Staatsoper), Sieglinde Walküre (Fundação Centro Cultural de Belém) and Bluebeard’s Castle (Bamberg Symphony under Adam Fischer.
Ruxandra has transitioned in recent years from Mozart and French lyric repertoire to the German dramatic repertoire with Kundry Parsifal (Simon Rattle, Berlin Philharmonic), Elektra in Manfred Trojan’s Orest (Opernhaus Zurich).
Recent highlights include her debuts as Fricka in Dieter Dorn’s production of The Ring Cycle (Grand Théâtre de Genève), Eduige Rodelinda (Bolshoi, Moscow) and Sieglinde Die Walküre with Vladimir Jurowski and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
