Born Portsmouth. Credits include: Head of Opera at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (since 2017). Chorus Master at Royal Danish Opera (2004–2012), Assistant Chorus Master at Bayreuth Festival (2005-2015), Assistant Chorus Master Moses and Aron, Chorus Master Oedipus Rex, Rossignol, Parsifal (Théâtre du Chatelet), Associate Chorus Master at Radio France, chorus preparation for Deutsche Grammophon recording of Messiaen’s La Transfiguration de Notre Seigneur Jesus-Christ, Bizet’s Ivan IV, Honegger’s La Danse des Morts, Berlioz’s Benvenuto Cellini (EMI), Guest Chorus Master at Scottish Opera, Opera de Lyon, Longborough Festival Opera, ENO, and Moses und Aron (WNO). Philip prepared the chorus for Tannhauser (Théâtre du Chatelet) and for Sting’s album Sacred Love.
