A regular guest at the world’s greatest opera houses including the Metropolitan Opera New York, Covent Garden, La Scala, Vienna, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Berlin, Munich, Salzburg and Bayreuth Festivals, Peter Rose’s enormous repertoire includes Ochs, Gurnemanz, Fasolt, Daland, King Marke, Commendatore, Gorjančikov, Basilio, Kecal, Banquo, Philip, Boris, Prince Gremin, Leporello, Osmin, Zaccaria, La Roche, Arkel, Rocco, Four Villains, Claggart and Falstaff. He has won particular acclaim for his performances of Bottom which he has sung in Vienna, Aix-en-Provence, Paris, London, Rome, Chicago, Barcelona and on the occasion of his debut at the Metropolitan Opera, New York and for Glyndebourne Festival Opera. He has performed the role of Daland in many of the great opera houses in the world including ROH, Metropolitan Opera, Wiener Staatsoper, Bayerische Staatsoper, Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin and Bayreuth. A prolific concert artist, he has worked with the world’s best orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra and New York Philharmonic, and has collaborated with conductors including Kleiber, Maazel, Guilini, Masur, Haitink, Rattle, Barenboim, Mehta, Thieleman, Solti, Mackerras, and Petrenko. Following many years of celebrated performances at the Wiener Staatsoper, Peter Rose was awarded with the lauded title “Kammersanger” in Summer 2020.
