Grange Park Opera debut: Porgy, Porgy & Bess.

Born Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Recent & forthcoing engagements: Lescaut Manon Lescaut (Dallas Opera), Pytheas in Gounod’s Sapho (Washington Concert Opera), Bernstein’s Songfest (BBC Scottish Symphony) and Porgy & Bess Suite (Malmö Opera, Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra). Other appearances Amonasro Aida (ENO), Porgy Porgy & Bess, Gottardo Gazza Ladra (Glimmerglass), Queequeg Moby Dick (Los Angeles Opera, Dallas Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, Utah Opera), Zuniga Carmen (Philadelphia Opera, Norwegian National Opera, Palm Beach), Angelotti Tosca (Canadian Opera), Colline Bohème, Stephen Kumalo Lost in the Stars (Washington Opera).

Musa graduated from the University of Cape Town and Philadelphia’s Academy of Vocal Arts. In 2013, he was the Grand Finals Winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.

Interests: reading, writing, and travelling. Musa’s autobiography Odyssey of an African Opera Singer has been published by Penguin Random House.
