Michael Ferguson
Michael, a Scottish baritone from Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, began his vocal studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland before continuing his training in London at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has performed roles including the Imperial Commissioner in Madama Butterfly (Irish National Opera), Docker, Journalist, Shouter, and Cop in Lady Gregory in America (Wexford Festival Opera), and Campistrel in Belle Lurette (New Sussex Opera). He has also performed in student productions as Papageno in Die Zauberflöte and Schaunard in La Bohème.
In scenes, Michael has performed Sharpless (Madama Butterfly), Zuniga (Carmen), Marcello (La Bohème), Belcore (L’elisir d’amore), Nireno (Giulio Cesare), Sid (Albert Herring), and Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia).
Michael is currently in his second season as a member of the Irish National Opera Chorus. With Grange Park Opera, he has performed in La fille du régiment, Aleko, Katya Kabanova, Island of Dreams, Tosca, and Tristan und Isolde.
Outside of performing, Michael can be found exploring the waterways of London aboard his canal boat.
