Emerging spinto soprano Izabela Matula has made important role debuts during last seasons, such as Catalani’s La Wally at Theater an der Wien, Moniuszko’s Halka alongside Piotr Beczala in Warsaw, Leonora in Verdi’s La forza del destino and Milada in Smetana’s Dalibor in Frankfurt. Her recent performances include Verdi’s Aida in Kiel, Puccini’s Tosca in Darmstadt, Magdeburg, Düsseldorf, Bonn, Puccini’s Madama Butterfly in Mannheim, Braunschweig, Gdansk as well as Leonora in Verdi’s Il Trovatore in Linz and Mannheim.

Izabela Matula started her career 2008 in her native Poland with roles such as Marguerite in Gounod’s Faust, Micaela in Bizet’s Carmen and Gabrielle in Penderecki’s The Devils of Loudun. She was a member of the Krefeld Mönchengladbach opera house 2012-2018 singing a broad repertoire from Mozart to Britten, among her roles there Elsa in Wagner’s Lohengrin, Amelia in Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera, the title roles in Katia Kabanova and Suor Angelica as well as Ellen Orford in Britten’s Peter Grimes.
