Hye-Youn Lee
Born in South Korea, Hye-Youn Lee studied in Berlin before joining Les Jeunes Voix du Rhin at L’Opéra National du Rhin, and L’Atelier Lyrique at L’Opéra National de Paris. Her London debut was as Marie La Fille du Régiment for Opera Holland Park when she was named Face to Watch in Classical Music. Companies she has appeared with include Teatro Verdi Trieste, Theater St Gallen, Bergen National Opera, L’Opéra National du Rhin, Opera North, Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, Theater Magdeburg, State Opera Plovdiv, Scottish Opera, Grange Park Opera, Icelandic Opera, Finnish National Opera and al Bustan Festival. Recent successes include Madame Mao Nixon in China, Donna Anna Don Giovanni, Micaëla Carmen, Violetta La Traviata Strauss’s Daphne, Violetta La Traviata for Scottish Opera, Musetta La Boheme for Grange Park and Madama Butterfly for both Icelandic Opera and Finnish National Opera. She appears regularly in concert both in the UK and abroad.
