Born in Caserta, just outside Napoli, Elisabetta studied under Virginio Profeta, Ettore Campogagliani and Carlo Bergonzi.

Her signature roles have included Ulrica Ballo in Maschera, Amneris Aida, Azucena Trovatore, Fenena Nabucco, Preziosilla Forza del destino, Federica Luisa Miller, Eboli Don Carlo, Quickly Falstaff, Santuzza Cavalleria Rusticana, Rosa Mamai L’arlesiana, Laura and Cieca Gioconda, Seymour Anna Bolena, Bouillon Adriana Lecouvreur, Zia Principessa Suor Angelica, Croissy Dialogues des Carmelites, Carmen.

She has appeared throughout Europe and America including Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, La Scala, Covent Garden, Salzburger Festspiele, Bregenz Festival, Bayerische Staatsoper, Hamburg, Dresden, Barcelona’s Liceu, Parma, Lisbon, Torino, Rome, Treviso, Firenze, Bologna, Como, Venezia, Cosenza, Piacenza, Catania, Cremona, Macerata, Lecce, Modena, Ravenna, Verona, Vienna, Frankfurt, Parma, Cagliari, Bilbao, Madrid, Oviedo, San Sebastián, Mallorca, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Toulon, Nice, Bratislava, Palermo, Bari, Trieste, Buenos Aires, Geneva, Toulon, Strasbourg, and Baden Baden. She has performed with leading conductors including Muti, Sinopoli, Oren, Viotti, Conlon, Pappano, Chailly, Abbado. She was awarded with Premio Internazionale Francesco Cilea 2005 and Oscar della Lirica 2013.
