Manchester-born Clive Bayley first appeared with Grange Park Opera in 2008 as the merman – Rusalka’s father – and further house appearances include King Marke Tristan & Isolde, King Love for Three Oranges, Philip II Don Carlo, Gremin Onegin, Don Quichotte, Swallow Grimes. 

His recent and forthcoming appearances include Raimondo Bidement Lucia di Lammermoor (ENO), Savel Prokofjevic Dikoy Katya Kabanova, Dansker Billy Budd (Covent Garden), Rake’s Progress with the London Philharmonic Orchestra under Vladimir Jurowski.

Other opera includes Doctor Wozzeck (Metropolitan Opera), Astradamors in the US première of Le Grand Macabre (San Francisco), Fasolt in David McVicar’s production of Das Rheingold (Opera National du Rhin, Strasbourg) and Claggart in Richard Jones’s production of Billy Budd (Frankfurt).
