Twenty one years of Grange Park Opera
Building the Theatre in the Woods
It was a race against time: just 24 months to (a) get planning permission (b) build the theatre (c) raise £10m. Tales from the Theatrical Woods chronicled progress with an air of nervousness. After all, we didn’t know whether we would succeed . . .
Two decades of operas
Since the company’s first opera in 1998, there have been more than 75 productions embracing familiar titles and the unexpected.
There are members of the Grange Park Opera family who have been to all of them.
Fiddler on the Roof with Bryn Terfel went to the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall . . . and we established a second festival at Nevill Holt staging 14 operas between 2003 and 2012.
West Horsley Place
“An exquisite place, intensely atmospheric, inherently dramatic with venerable trees, glowing brick walls, tiled roofs and secret walled gardens with a theatre in the woodland beckoning”
