A special tour of the Muzio Clementi House given by owner Tom Stacey.
Through the presence of Clementi, Father of the Pianoforte, the house became the musical ‘home’ in London of the young Felix Mendelssohn. It was then the home of composer William Horsley and his musical family, with whom Mendelssohn performed home-made operas in the drawing-room.
Afterwards, we will have dinner at nearby Clarke’s.
