A real gent and reckless benefactor
At 4pm on Friday 11 March 2022, we are paying tribute to Bamber Gascoigne in the magnificent Guards’ Chapel in Birdcage Walk, close to Buckingham Palace.
There is wonderful music (Handel, Strauss, Schubert) and the Band of the Grenadier Guards – Bamber was Grenadier in his twenties – and tributes from Christina Gascoigne, Michael Frayn, Joanna Lumley and others.
