Iria Perestrelo
Portuguese Soprano Iria Perestrelo trained at Oporto Conservatoire and at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. Iria has performed with Grange Park Opera in the UK, Wexford Festival Opera in Ireland and with Bühnen Bern in Switzerland.
Her roles include Giulietta I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Susanna Le nozze di Figaro, Zerlina D. Giovanni, Despina Così fan tutte, Serpina La serva padrona, Genovieffa Suor Angelica, Sandmännchen Hänsel & Gretel, Gingerbread Woman A village Romeo & Juliet, Moth A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
At Teatr Wielki Warsaw Iria has worked with Anita Garanča, Andrejs Žagars, Dmitry Vdovin, Eytan Pessen, Izabella Kłosińska, and at Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Lisbon with Claudio Desderi.
Iria’s prizes include the Kathleen Ferrier Competition for young singers, the Audience Prize at Concurso de Canto da Fundação Rotária Portuguesa in Lisbon, the Prize Jovens Criadores awarded for her debut performance at the prestigious Wigmore Hall London.
Iria has appeared as a concert soloist in the UK at the National Portrait Gallery, Handel House, St. Martin-in-the-fields, Birmingham Town Hall, between others, in Switzerland at Dreifaltigkeitskirche and Casino Bern, and at her native Portugal most iconic venues. Most recently she has performed song recitals at Von Nagel Paris and Maison du Portugal – Cité Universitaire.
