(Leave a legacy)
Bryn Terfel, as Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, said “It is a blessing to give”.
By including Grange Park Opera in your Will you are preserving the culture of music and opera.
You are making a mark on the future. In that way . . . you are Immortal.
But we also want it to be immediately enjoyable. So we are creating a jolly group (The Immortals) who will have an Annual Autumn Dinner and some may wish to meet up during the opera season and come onto the stage to meet the cast.
Your gift will be recognised (if you so wish) for 20 years in the Programme Book and on the website.
The price of Immortality is not great … given what is on offer. We are asking for a minimum pledge of £50,000. So far we have around a dozen Immortals.
If you wish to leave a lesser amount, it will, of course, still work towards the goal of preserving the arts for future generations and we will celebrate you in a fitting way.
DID YOU KNOW Because Grange Park Opera is a charity, your gift will be deducted from any inheritance tax (IHT) liability which is normally 40%. If you give 10% of your estate to charity, IHT is reduced to 36%.
IT IS VERY EASY to set up a legacy via a codicil to your Will giving either a specific amount or a percentage of the value of your estate. And you can write a gift into your Will at any time.
THE IMMORTALS are the brainchild of our principal donors Michael and Hilary Cowan. They have kindly agreed to pay for the Annual Autumn Dinner for the next ten years. Their generosity is hugely appreciated.
By the way . . . if you have inherited in the past two years, and you pass part of your inheritance to a charity, it can reclaim the Inheritance Tax.
