Guests arrive from two hours before the performance starts and, with a glass of champagne, they wander through the historic gardens.
The Box Office is located close to the Champagne Lawn.
WHAT TO WEAR
Many guests go for black tie / long dress, but we encourage stylish creativity. Don’t be afraid to stand out from the crowd.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Even on a wet day you can enjoy excellent opera in a convivial atmosphere. You can reserve picnic places in the Croquet Lawn marquee or the Orchard Marquees. The theatre is a permanent structure, entirely closed to the elements.
The Box Office and Customer Service team is keen to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. If you have specific requirements, you can contact them on 01962 73 73 73
Guests without good mobility must be accompanied.
By arrangement, guests in wheelchairs and with walking difficulties can be dropped off by the theatre OR by the orchard gateway, and the driver can park in the new designated spaces close to the theatre. Alternatively, guests can park in the designated area in the main car park
Wheelchair spaces are at the Stalls level (ground level). There are no lifts. There are 12 steps to the Stalls Circle, 26 steps to the Grand Tier and 40 steps to the Balcony.
West Horsley Place is an ancient site and the rabbits have been there longer than the opera. Every rabbit hole we fill, two more appear. We have tried to make the ground accessible. However, the orchard is uneven and the gardens spongy.
The Walnut Tree Restaurant , Orchard marquee and Pavilion 19 are most suitable for guests in wheelchairs and with walking difficulties.
Mobility scooters cannot be used.
We do not have a hearing loop.
The Kiosk, situated near the theatre, has stylish items including the annual GPO Mug and the Season Book. You can also purchase them online.
