GRANGE PARK OPERA IS A CHARITY    |    DONATE TO BAMBER GASCOIGNE LEGACY PROJECT

Champagne in the orchard

Calling Wimbledon

Our opera house is just 30 minutes from Wimbledon.

Join us for the fantastic 2023 season, we have made the season as tempting as possible: three great love stories and a Welsh knight.

The whole experience of visiting Grange Park Opera, in the grounds of West Horsley Place, is beyond stylish – and the perfect way to spend a summer evening. The historic 14th-century house, which was inherited in 2014 by the author and broadcaster Bamber Gascoigne from his aunt, the Duchess of Roxburghe, sits on a 380-acre estate in the Surrey Hills, only 23 miles from London.

Guests arrive early to wander through the magnificent formal gardens, champagne glass in hand, soaking up the beauty of the setting. A short stroll through the ancient orchard – passing a 300-year-old mulberry tree – leads to the epic five-tier opera house, modelled on La Scala in Milan, with its rose-covered colonnade, abundant sweet peas and a cooling fountain.

The leisurely long interval is all-important. Guests choose whether to picnic outside or dine inside the historic house, walking on the very stone flags trod by Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. And it is the setting of BBC Ghosts. The summer season runs from Thursday, 8 June until Thursday, 13 July.
